The smell of Fall...shoudl I take out my decorations or wait?

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I know I shouldn't rush it but here in Montreal it is alot like Spring. It comes and before you know it, it's gone and we are covered in snow! I get so excited about Fall, I guess it is because you could start using the oven again without pouring a sweat. I was so excited this weekend that I decided to make butternut squash soup and chicken vegetable soup. Both were delicious and my kids were thrilled. Now I am debating...should I take out my fall decorations or wait. What do you think??

  2. glad you are back. just wanted to say, last year i did a pumpkin soup. i paint faces on my pumbkins and tie raffia on the stem, as a bow/ hair. instead of cutting them up.

and then after, i cut it up, bake it, puree it. the one i did last year, i added some coconut milk and served it with a few toasted pumpkin seeds (store bought).

the soup froze well also. my husband is does fond of curry, but i think a spicy curry would also be good.

i am usually more excited when spring hits, but i am glad for a break in the heat. and i live to ski. so i am getting excited for that.

  4. I love the idea of doing a bow on the stem of the pumpkin to make it look like a hair piece... definitely will try that.

Quick question on cooking the pumpkin; I thought we are only able to eat sweet pumpkins not the typical halloween ones????
